Pool passes

Applications for seasonal passes to the Bungalow Pool are now available. Anyone who returns their application and fee to Tamaqua Borough Hall before April 30 is guaranteed to have their pass before opening day. Discounted rates are made available through the generosity of the John E. Morgan Foundation.Applications are available at Tamaqua Borough Hall, 320 E. Broad St.; the Tamaqua Public Library on South Railroad Street; the Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce on West Broad Street; Fegley's Mini Mart on Center Street; the TIMES NEWS, 200 E. Broad St.; and Our Family Mini Mart, West Broad Street.The pool will be open for Memorial Day weekend May 25-27, at 11:30 a.m. The pool will then be closed until opening day, June 1 at 1:30 p.m. No passes will be sold during the holiday weekend or opening day weekend. A meet and greet informational session will be held at 7 p.m., April 16, at the Ag Center, 1202 Ag Center Dr., Pottsville. Anyone who loves gardening and is willing to help/teach others is welcome to apply.The Master Gardener Program is administered by Penn State University, which provides volunteers with special training in horticulture.
