The Write It Right conference will be held from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center, 125 Pine St., Tamaqua.

The deadline for "First-Page Reboot," this year's advance submission workshop for those interested in having the first page of their works critiqued, has been extended to April 10. Kathryn Craft, owner of Writing-Partner.com, an independent manuscript evaluation and writing support service, will assess participants' first pages against a brief synopsis of the larger story to see what works and what could use revision. Sign up today to get professional advice on your work.Craft will also reveal what contributes to a satisfying story ending and share guidelines by which you can judge your own in "The Last Word on Endings."Tracey L. Higley, author of nine novels, will give the keynote speech on Finding Your Voice in a Noisy World.The conference also includes 11 workshops on writing-related topics such as Have Blog, Want Readers; The ABCs of Public Speaking; and Poem Fusion. Workshop, Writing For and About the YA Guy and Secrets of Dramatic Tension: Creating a Page Turner. The conference will close with an author book fair.There is a registration fee. Walk-ins will be accepted the day of the event for those with cash or a money order.
