A spokesperson for the Hampton Inn in Franklin Township, which sustained major damages by fire on Friday night, said it isn't known when the facility will be reopened.

"We'll let the TIMES NEWS know," the spokesperson said.The inn's website says no rooms are available April 1 or 2.Flames crawled up the rear exterior of the three-story building at about 11 p.m. Friday.The fire reportedly started in a dumpster in the rear of the motel, which is located along Route 209 next to Trainer's Inn. One report said there was an explosion inside the dumpster.Firefighters from eight communities were dispatched to the scene of the three-alarm fire. They were directed in their efforts by Fire Chief Bruce Wolfe.On Saturday, a state police fire marshal visited the scene and assisted Wolfe with his investigation.When firefighters reached the scene, heavy fire was reportedly burning in the dumpster and the blaze had already spread to the exterior wall of the motel.Flames quickly climbed the wall, reaching the third floor. There was heavy smoke inside the building, according to reports.The guests in the building were evacuated and Hampton Inn officials made arrangements to have them housed at Country Inn & Suites, also located on Route 209 about three-quarters of a mile away.The blaze was battled by firefighters from Franklin Township, Lehighton, Palmerton, Parryville, Bowmanstown, Jim Thorpe, Mahoning Township, and Aquashicola.Wolfe had aerial trucks dispatched from Lehighton, Jim Thorpe, and Palmerton.Tank trucks hauled water from a site along Church Street to the fire scene.The fire was brought under control within about an hour.There were no reported injuries.
