Art salad bowl

An "art salad bowl," featuring the work of budding artists from the Panther Valley School District, will be held March 28 at the Tamaqua Community Art Center, 125 Pine St. Students artists of all ages will attend the free 6-9 p.m. meet and greet session.The local artists will be highlighting selected works in a variety of mediums, including canvas pieces in water color, acrylic, oil paint and pencil. Ceramic works will also be on display. Additionally, the session will include finished framed prints from the Daedal Doodle Project 2.0 of Victor Stabin, who is affiliated with the Panther Valley School District's artist in residence 2012 program, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.For more information, call (570) 668-1192 or visit the TCAC's website at

Vice president Nancy Gerber conducted the business session.Jacquie Patrick provided the invocation. Grace Moser was added to the sick list.Due to the Easter holiday, the next meeting will be April 4 and will include a celebration of members' February and March birthdays. Senior Services will present an in-service program at 12:30 p.m. that day, providing information on a volunteer program.The meeting concluded with cards and social games.The seniors meet at 1 p.m. every Thursday, at the Masonic Lodge, located on SR54 (East) in Hometown.Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join.
