A second young girl injured in Schuylkill County crash on Sunday morning has died.
State police at Schuylkill Haven and the Lehigh County Coroner's office said Catrina Williams, 3, of 344 Sunbury St., Minersville, died at 3:17 p.m. on Monday at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where she, her sister, and mother were flown following the two vehicle crash.Her sister, Carianna L. Kroh, 6, died at the hospital at 3:51 p.m. Sunday, several hours after arrival.Their mother, Victoria Place, 27, remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit.The crash occurred about 11:35 a.m. along SR61 at the entrance to Faith Church, in West Brunswick Township. Place, operating a 1996 Plymouth Breeze, was exiting the church parking lot while a 17-year-old male from Schuylkill Haven, driving a 2005 Honda Accord, was southbound at a high rate of speed. troopers said.Place pulled into the roadway attempting a left turn to go north and hesitated, stopping in the right lane. The teen applied his brakes and swerved to the right.The front of the Honda struck the driver's side door area of the Plymouth. After impact both vehicles traveled about 80 feet southbound before coming to rest facing east on the shoulder.The teen was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-E. Norwegian St., Pottsville, with non-life threatening injuries.Chief Deputy Coroner Paul Hoffman said both girls died of multiple blunt force injuries.The investigation of the accident is continuing, troopers added.
