DUI arrests

State police at Lehighton reported on three driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers, two occurring on Sunday, March 10, and the third on Monday, March 11.

On Sunday about 4:27 p.m. troopers stopped Eric David Craigie, 35, of Jim Thorpe, along Lehigh Avenue, in Jim Thorpe, for a motor vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest.At 4:50 p.m. Sunday troopers stopped Jonni Efrain Farias Rayo, 21, of Jim Thorpe, along SR903 on Kattner's Mountain, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the infuence of an alleged controlled substance and was placed under arrest.The third incident occurred about 4:10 p.m. on Monday. Valerie Dailey, 38, of Lehighton, arrived at the barracks and reported that her boyfriend, identified as Robert Arthur Keiper, 44, of Stroudsburg, had taken her vehicle without her permission and that he was intoxicated.Troopers alerted the Fern Ridge and Swiftwater barracks that the suspect might be headed towards Stroudsburg.Later troopers stopped Keiper, operating a 1992 Jeep Cherokee, at the Snydersville Diner, along Middle Easton Bellmont Pike, in Hamilton Township. He was taken into custody and transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, where he was admitted for evaluation. The DUI charge is pending.
