Lenten services

Lenten services for Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran and Jerusalem UCC, Trachsville, St. Matthew's UCC, Kunkletown, Salem UCC, Gilbert, and Salem-St. Paul Lutheran, Kresgeville, will be held March 6 at Salem UCC, Gilbert. Services on March 13 will be held at Salem-St. Paul Lutheran, Kresgeville, with guest preacher, Pastor Brain Holben.Soup and sandwiches will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m., with worship at 7:30 p.m.Holy Trinity LutheranHoly Trinity Lutheran Church will hold services at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 10. Girl Scout Sunday will be observed.On Sunday, March 10, at 12:15 p.m., the Worship and Music committee will meet. On Monday, March 11, the Finance committee will meet at 7 p.m.Lenten services will he held on Wednesday, March 13. Supper is from 6-7 p.m., and worship will be from 7-7:30 p.m.Palmerton Area LibraryA quilt guild is forming in Palmerton and will meet at the Palmerton Library on Thursday, March 14, at 7 p.m. Interested persons may call the library at (610) 826-3424 for information. Please use the side door.High school blood driveMiller-Keystone Blood Center conducted a successful blood drive at Palmerton Area High School on Wednesday, Feb. 27. There were 54 people, mostly students, registered and 44 units were collected.Members of the National Honor Society assisted at the drive, including: Brianna Bush, Jenna Creed, Jess Debski, Josh Evans, Brittany Fronheiser, Jackie Frohnheiser, Courtney Getz, Leah Heffelfinger, Amy Hudock, Erika Hudock, Morgan Mummey, Andrew Nosti, Katie Pielmeier, Jessica Periera, Kyla Rodrigues, Allie Quinn, Gabe Scott, Laurel Seemiller, Arissa Snyder, Tyler Snyder, Dakota Strohl and Taylor Williams. Adult volunteers included Shirley Neff and Lucille Rex.The next Miller-Keystone community blood drive will be April 22.
