Tamaqua Welsh Songfest held at First United Church

Visitors and parishioners were treated to Welsh choir music by the Tamaqua-Panther Valley Songfest Leadership recently at the First United Methodist Church in Tamaqua. Churches represented were the First United Methodist Church in Tamaqua, First Congregational Church in Tamaqua, Zion Stone Church in New Ringgold, St. John's Lutheran Church in Tamaqua, People's Evangelical, St. Katherine's Drexel Church in Lansford, New Life Assembly of God Church in Tamaqua, United Methodist Church in Coaldale, St. Peter's Church in Mantzville, St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Summit Hill, St. Peter and Paul Church in Tamaqua, St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church in Lansford and Trinity United Church of Christ in Tamaqua. Special Welsh treats were also provided after the event. Some songs consisted of "We'll Keep a Welcome", "How Great a Flame Aspires" and "Let All Things Now Living." Key organizers were organizational chairperson Marilyn Felsoci, choir director Samantha Yachera and organist Audrey Christ. Others were Marge Kropp, Phyllis Lane, Patti Eisenburg, Bob Ames and Reverend James "Jim" Cavallero. Felsoci stated her appreciation to all the singers, volunteers, visitors and cookie bakers.
