ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS Elementary students at the Mahanoy Area Elementary School were treated to numerous activities recently as part of Read Across America. Some activities included singing, making costumes, cup cakes for birthdays, reading, story time and so on. The event also included readings of Dr Suess by guest readers and special lessons against bullying. Also during the full-day event, girls opted to wear daisies and boys wore paper Cat in the Hat hats, as part of Dr. Suess's book titled "Daisy-Head Mayzie." Co-coordinators of the event were Natalie Zawada and Michelle Wells. Singing in unison, over 200 students sing "Together We Will Change The World."
