Firefighters were called to Valley Road in Lewistown Valley Friday afternoon for a car fire. Firefighters, who arrived within minutes and extinguished the fire, said they saw smoke miles before arriving. No injuries were reported. Responding were Walker Township Police, Walker/New England Fire Company, American Hose Company of Tamaqua and others. Valley Road was closed during the response.
