Construction of fire station, electic utility relocation to begin

The Fire Station and Electric Utility Relocation projects in Lehighton will begin in early March.

Residents should be aware that there will be inconveniences to homes and businesses in the area of the project.Lehighton Borough Manager Nicole Beckett announced that residents should be prepared for road closures, lane restrictions, parking limitations, power outages, sidewalk closures and construction activity in the area of Third and Cedar streets.Construction will generally take place Monday through Friday during daylight hours. Construction is anticipated to take 12 months.Anyone with questions or concerns during the project should contact the borough office at (610) 377-4002.
