A Slatington driver was involved in a crash in Lehigh County in which his vehicle was struck by a tractor trailer rig whose driver failed to stop for a stop sign. Upper Macungie Township police said the accident occurred about 1:14 p.m. on Feb. 13 at the intersection of Schantz Road and Industrial Boulevard.

Police said Mirel Mahmutovic, 27, of Chicago, Ill., was driving a rig on Schantz Road and failed to stop for a stop sign and struck a Hyundai sedan driven by Alexander Peters, 20, of Slatington.No one was injured but both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Police said Mahmutovic was cited for vehicles entering or crossing a roadway.
