Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, will hold First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at 5 p.m., March 2. The Rev. Michael Frost will preside.The third Sunday in Lent worship with Holy Communion will be observed at 9 a.m. The Rev. Donald Hayn, interim pastor, presides. Coffee fellowship follows. Sunday School Power Hour begins at 10:15 a.m. for ages 3 through adult.First Tuesday quiet Communion is observed 10 a.m. March 5.Midweek Wednesday worship opportunities continue through March 20. Noon worship is followed by a soup lunch. Each Wednesday evening there will be a soup supper at 6 p.m., then "Holden Evening Prayer" worship at 7 p.m. Immediately following the 7 p.m. worship is a Lenten study based on the movie "Chocolat," reflecting on issues of grace, forgiveness and transformation."Coffeehouse of Hope," an evening with the Trinity Praise Band featuring vocalists Brain Hoffner and Becky McFadden will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 9. All financial gifts will be given to "Dylan & Gavin's Rainbow" ministry. Established by the Krum family of Lehighton, this ministry has been established to offer support to families when a child faces a serious illness or condition, and also offers support in the event of a death of a child.A Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held in Luther Hall on Saturday, March 23. Children ages 1-6, from 1-2 p.m.; and children ages 7-12, from 2-3 p.m. Contact the church office at (610) 377-4303 to register your child's age. Deadline is March 15. This is a free event. Please remember to bring a basket to collect the eggs.A Spring Cantata "Here is Love" will be performed by the church choir accompanied by a small orchestra, under the direction of choir director Susan Lovejoy, at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at Trinity Lutheran Church.Holy Week worship services will take place as follows: 9 a.m. Palm Sunday, March 24, with Holy Communion and distribution of palm fronds. Sunday School Power Hour students will take part in a palm procession around the block, followed by themed-crafts in Luther Hall starting at 10:15 a.m.Maundy Thursday worship with Holy Communion will be held at 7 p.m. March 28. Students currently receiving instructions for communion will receive their First Holy Communion during the 7 p.m. worship service.
