Construction to require both lanes of I-81 to be merged for months

Major construction work on Interstate 81 in Delano Township will require single lane conditions for work related to the ongoing Interstate 81 Bridge Rehabilitation Project. Starting as soon as tomorrow, the southbound lane of Interstate 81 just past the McAdoo exit (Exit 138) will be shifted to the northbound side. Southbound traffic will be shifted back to the southbound lanes at the Delano exit (Exit 134). PennDOT encourages drivers to use caution and obey posted speed limits throughout the work zone. Later on in the project, the traffic pattern will be reversed (both directions of traffic on the northbound side) as construction workers do repairs to the southbound side of I-81. The estimated completion date is October 31, 2013. Pictured is a detour road just past Exit 138 that will be used to merge southbound traffic with northbound traffic.
