Redball Military Transport Club's winter swap meet is Saturday

If you're suffering from a case of cabin fever or would just like something a little different to do this weekend, then you might want to check out the Redball Military Transport Club's Winter Swap Meet being held this Saturday, March 2nd, at Memorial Hall on East 10th street in Jim Thorpe.

Vintage military items such as clothing, vehicle parts, books, manuals, tools, etc. will be available at the club's Winter Swap Meet which will be held there from 8 am to 4 pm.The members of the Redball Military Transport Club collect, restore and show antique military vehicles both for the enjoyment of it and also to remember and honor the members of our Armed Forces, past and present. The club takes its name from the famous World War II truck supply route the "Red Ball Express" that originated in Normandy in the fall of 1944 and continually resupplied Allied troops advancing swiftly across France toward the Siegfried Line in Germany. They participate in parades, veteran's events, historic displays, re-enactments and local civic events and also host two major club events each year.In addition to this Saturday's winter swap meet, the club also hosts a Fall Rally and Swap Meet during September at the West End Fairgrounds at Gilbert PA.The September meet also features a large and varied display of antique military vehicles in addition to a large militaria flea market. So, wether you are a history buff, military collector, or simply looking for a little nostalgia, then the military swap meet to be held this Saturday at Memorial Hall may be the just the place for you.
