Teens are cited for snowball incident

A snow/ice ball throwing incident in Tamaqua on Feb. 7 resulted in three teens being cited by police.

At 5:50 p.m., Wendy Seigenfuse of 145 Grouse Ridge, Tamaqua, called police to report that she was driving on Hunter Street, near the intersection with Orwigsburg Street, when a young male threw an ice/snow ball, striking her vehicle.She stopped, got out of the vehicle and found three teens, two 13 year old and one 14 year old, hiding under a deck. She called police and the trio ran toward the railroad tracks.Patrolman Anthony Stanell and Sgt. Richard Weaver found the teens hiding among the parked railroad cars and took them into custody.Seigenfuse identified one of the 13 year olds as the boy who threw the object at her vehicle. He was cited for disorderly conduct.Reading and Blue Mountain Railroad officials were contacted and all three teens were charged with trespassing.
