Schuylkill break-ins probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two burglaries and a theft from vehicle incident occurring in Schuylkill County.

The first entry was reported at Corkey's Fourth St. Station, located at 345 E. Colliery Ave., in Tower City. The front door of the bar was pried open to gain entry. Once inside the criminal removed $490 in cash as well as several packs of cigarettes. Troopers said the criminal fled on foot west on Colliery Avenue.The incident occurred between 2:30 and 2:35 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 15.Troopers are investigating an entry to the Cressona Fire Company, located at 59 S. Second St. Entry was gained by breaking a window in the basement area. Once inside the criminals damaged numerous entry doors attempting to gain access to various rooms throughout the building.Taken was soda and money from the kitchen area. The incident occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, and 8:45 a.m. on Friday.Troopers said a 2007 Ford E-250 van, owned by American Surgical Supply Inc., was entered while parked at 347 Pottsville/St. Clair Highway, in Norwegian Township, sometime between 5 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. on Friday.Removed from the vehicle was two GPS units valued at $200.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at (570) 739-1330.
