Auburn woman killed in crash

State Police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a two car crash that killed a 22-year old Auburn woman.

Police reported that the crash occurred when Eric A. Mitchell, 19, of Auburn lost control of his car while heading northbound on Route 183.Mitchell veered off the east side of the road and overcorrected. The overcorrection caused his car to skid to the left into the oncoming lane where it was struck by a car driven south in the southbound lane by Tina M. Walker, 54, of Fredricksburg, according to police.Mitchell's passenger was Courtney Hengen, 22. She was life-flighted from the scene to Lehigh Valley Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.Michell received minor injuries and was transported to Schuylkill Medical South with an infant passenger who also received minor injuries.Walker had a passenger in her vehicle, William W. Walker, 53, also of Fredericksburg. Tina Walker received major injuries and was life flighted to Reading Hospital. The passenger was transported to Reading Hospital where he was treated for moderate injuries.Summit Station Fire Co., Fredericksburg Fire Co. and Pottsville-Schuylkill Haven EMS responded to the scene.
