Crashes probed

State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 9:12 .a.m. on Feb . 5 along Fireline Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Robert F. Dreste III, 23, of Palmerton, was driving a 2006 Ford Focus eastbound when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the car. The car traveled off the right side and through the parking area of a ball field and into the yard at 2185 Fireline Road striking a large tree.Dreste was injured and taken to the Palmerton Hospital by Palmerton ambulance. Troopers cited Dreste for driving on roadways lane for traffic.Troopers investigated a one vehicle crash about 5:48 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, along White St., in Bowmanstown. Troopers said Heather E. Engiles, 23, of Bethlehem, was driving a 2002 Jeep Liberty north in the westbound lane when she lost control due to snowy conditions. The Jeep traveled across the southbound lane and hit a cable wire along the west shoulder. It then continued through the cable wire going down an embankment about 20-feet going through rocks and trees before coming to a rest.Engiles sustained a minor injury and was taken to the Palmerton hospital by Palmerton ambulance. She was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.A one vehicle crash was reported about 3:10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, along Behrens Road, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said William N. Madea, 54, of Jim Thorpe, was driving a 2012 Honda CRV eastbound and approaching Weir Lake Road, when he drove over snow causing him to lose control. The vehicle left the road and struck a tree causing disabling damages.Madea was not injured. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions, troopers added.
