Series of vehicle break-ins in Tamaqua

Tamaqua Police are investigating a series of vehicle break ins reported to the department on Tuesday.

Owners of three vehicles contacted police to report that someone had been in their vehicles.Jacob Bumberger of 131 Schuylkill Ave. reported that someone took change and a pack of cigarettes from his vehicle, which had been parked near his home.A second vehicle parked on Schuylkill Avenue, owned by Robert Francis, was entered, but nothing was taken.The third vehicle, owned by Suzanne Lakitsky, was parked near 257 Rowe St. on Saturday. Someone entered the vehicle and removed a global positioning system unit from the car.All three vehicles were reportedly unlocked at the time of the incidents.Anyone with information may contact police at (570) 668-5000.
