A Schuylkill County driver was cited following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 10:10 a..m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, along SR61, north of Darkwater Road, in New Castle Township.

State police at Frackville said Robert Lutz II, 30, of Shenandoah, was driving a 1998 Ford Taurus southbound in the left lane when he lost control while negotiating a curve. The car left the road and struck the guard rail along the east berm. The car then traveled across the lanes of travel and struck an embankment along the west berm where it came to rest.Lutz refused medical treatment at the scene. A passenger, Kayla O'Donnell, 23, of Ashland, was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for evaluation of minor injuries, troopers said.Troopers added that Lutz would be cited for the crash.
