A new community youth drama program is under way in Tamaqua, hosted by Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. The first production will be an Easter play, titled "And In Heaven the Angels."The new program will provide children of all ages, through 12th grade, with the opportunity to learn all aspects of theatrical productions, from speaking and non speaking roles to prop design, costumes and more. Preschool children must be accompanied by an adult for moral support.Scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. on Feb. 11, the group will then meet from 5-6 p.m. every Monday at Zion's on Greenwood Street. Registration packets will be available beginning Feb. 19 at all three of the district's elementary schools or by calling (570) 668-3306.During the registration process, children will be evaluated by a team of professionals, including a classroom teacher, nurse and speech therapist.
