Carbon man facing multiple charges

A Carbon County man as facing multiple charges are the result of a series of vehicle break-ins in Nesquehoning.

Borough police said they received complaints from several residents of vehicles being entered and property being stolen from them. The entries occurred overnight of Jan. 6-7 in the following locations: 38 and 158 W. Catawissa St., 168 and 202 E. Catawissa St., and 75 E. and 75 W. Mill St.Items taken included cash, electronic equipment, compact discs, and a state turnpike EZ pass unit. As a result of an investigation by Officer Timothy Wuttke, assisted by Jim Thorpe Det. Lee Marzen, a search of 318 E. Catawissa St. was conducted, which is the residence of Dianne McFadden. Some of the stolen property was found in the residence.Police said as a result they placed Sean McFadden, 23, of that address, into custody later in the day. McFadden, police said, was in the county prison but released on furlough to seek drug treatment. He failed to do so, police said, and never reported back to the prison. Police noted this is the third time in the past year and a half that McFadden was arrested for breaking into multiple vehicles in the borough.The investigation is continuing and charges of theft, receiving stolen property, and felony escape are pending against McFadden.
