Lamar Lauer steps down from Walnutport Council

A new year will inevitably bring on change. The first of these changes happened Thursday night in Walnutport at the Borough Council meeting. Councilman Lamar Lauer has submitted his letter of resignation to the council.

Lauer has been a resident of Walnutport for his entire life. He has decided to move to warmer climates after spending 73 years living in the Walnutport Borough. Lauer served the people of Walnutport on the council for eight years.The resignation of Lauer leaves open a seat on the Borough Council. Any person interested in serving as a council member for the Walnutport Council should contact Borough Secretary Annette Lacko at (610) 767 1322. They will be accepting letters of intent until February 6th at 3 p.m. You can call the office Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 am and 3:30 pm.The term for the open seat on the council will run until 2015. The new member would serve out the term of the departing Councilman Lamar Lauer. Any interested person must be a resident of Walnutport and be willing to sign an affidavit of residency.
