Schuylkill commissioners address personnel issues

Schuylkill County Commissioners Wednesday approved hirings and acknowledged retirements and resignations in various departments.

District Attorney's OfficeAttorney Rebecca Elo, Orwigsburg, resigned as a deputy assistant district attorney as she has accepted a position in the state Attorney General's office.Michael Carey, Branch Township; Shawn Tray, Saint Clair, and Henry Woods, Lansford, had their jobs terminated as per diem investigative consultants as grants to cover their salaries expired.Recorder of Deeds OfficeMichael Postick, Butler Township, was promoted to system management coordinator and given a salary increase to $17.37 per hour.Court Administrator's OfficeNanette Ketrick, Orwigsburg, was named chief court reporter and her salary was set at $31.16 per hour.Office of Senior ServicesLori Ann Beach, Minersville, and Caitlin Morgan, Frackville, were hired as aging care managers 1 at salary of $13.94 per hour.Children and Youth ServicesSandra Patokas, Port Carbon, is retiring as legal assistant 3.Rest Haven HomeTammy Zapp and Miriah Whitaker, Pottsville; Michele Millisock and Katie Castellano, both of Schuylkill Haven; and Amber Drupp, Lebanon, were hired as full-time nurse's aides at $11.72 per hour.Miriah Whitaker, Pottsville, and Michelle Silfies, Tamaqua, were hired as part-time licensed practical nurses at $15.99 per hour.Frances Grygar, Mahanoy City, was hired as full-time licensed practical nurse at $15.99 per hour.Shoma MCartney, Schuylkill Haven, was hired as per diem nursing assistant at $13 per hour.Suzanne Staller, Leesport; Krista Cromyak, Pottsville; Tracey McNulty, Schuylkill Haven; and Cheryl Gehr, Shartlesville; were hired as per diem licensed practical nurses at $18 per hour.Also, Alice Lear-Goulding, Tremont, a full-time nurse's aide, retired.Nicole Bernotas, Shenandoah, and Roxanne Perazzo, Pottsville, resigned as full-time nurse's aides.Joan Gaumer, Cumbola, Blythe Township, resigned as full-time licensed practical nurse.Karen Snyder, Pottsville, resigned as full-time registered nurse.Renee Grube, Orwigsburg, resigned as per diem licensed practical nurse.The Schuylkill County Salary Board met and created new positions at Rest Haven Home as follows: four per diem licensed practical nurse positions and a per diem nursing assistant position and fixed salaries of $18 per hour for the LPN positions and $13 for the nursing assistant.
