A Monroe County woman was jailed in a New York state prison after she was arrested on a warrant issued to Pocono Mountain Regional police for stabbing her husband during a domestic incident.

Pocono police identified the suspect as Jennifer MaCewen, 55, of A Pocono Country Place, Tobyhanna.She facing charges of aggravated assault and related counts.According to police about 6:21 a.m. on Tuesday officers were dispatched to the MaCewen home to a report of a male stabbed multiple times. The caller said his wife had stabbed him.On scene the officers found the man had been stabbed in both arms with a steak knife. He told officers his wife stabbed him then fled the home in a Ford Explorer.The victim was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment.A search for MaCewen was conducted but she was not found.A warrant was then secured for her arrest.Police said MaCewen was arrested in Orange County, N.Y., by New York State Police after her vehicle had broken down along Interstate 84.She was placed in the Orange County prison on the warrant and is awaiting extradition back to Monroe County.
