Indians win three
The Lehighton Middle School football team closed the season with three straight victories. The streak allowed coach Rick Bennett's team to finish the 2013 campaign with a 6-4 record.
Lehighton defeated Pocono Mountain West, 38-24.
Quarterback Cody Scherer led the way as he ran for three touchdowns and was 9-for-11 for 224 yards through the air. Jake Petit-Clair caught five of those passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns while Collen Troxell ran for a touchdown. Scherer had an interception and Petit-Clair recovered a fumble for the Indians.
Lehighton rolled to a 38-6 victory over East Stroudsburg North.
Cody Scherer threw for three touchdowns and ran for one. Jake Petit-Clair had a pair of TD receptions. Collen Troxell also accounted for two scores, running for one and catching a pass for another.
Lehighton closed out its season with a 28-6 victory over Jim Thorpe.
