Brothers fight, one seriously injured

A domestic altercation between two Monroe County brothers led to one sustaining serious head injuries.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said the incident occurred during the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 5, at 6420 Marvin Gardens, in A Pocono Country Place, Tobyhanna, Coolbaugh Township.Police were called to the home about 1:10 a.m. Upon arrival officers learned that brothers Emery Memminger, 34, and Raynard Memminger, 49, had a physical altercation resulting in injuries to both men.Police said Raynard Memminger was struck several times with a wooden bar stool by his brother resulting in serious injuries to his head. He was flown by helicopter to the Community Medical Center in Scranton.Emery Memminger was struck in his facial area with a glass jar by his brother. He was treated and released at the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.Emery Memminger was then taken into custody and charged with aggravated and simple assault, reckless endangerment, harassment, and disorderly conduct. He was lodged in the county prison in Snydersville.Raynard Memminger has been charged with simple assault, reckless endangerment, and harassment. He remains in the Scranton hospital.
