CERT classes scheduled

The Community Emergency Response Team program is designed to introduce Carbon County residents to introductory courses in basic first aid, triage, disaster preparedness, fire suppression, light search and rescue, and terrorism awareness.

In the event of a disaster, as a CERT member you would be recognized as a volunteer under the direction of the Emergency Management Coordinator. In an emergency, you may be called upon for assistance. Hopefully, we may never have to call, except under more pleasant circumstances. The classes will be held at the Carbon County EMA/911 building (1264 Emergency Lane, Nesquehoning) between 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.Attendance is required for all four days for a certificate of completion. The dates are Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 30. If you miss a class you may make it up in the fall 2013 session.Register by calling (570) 325-3097.
