Mr. and Mrs. Dale Smith recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married on June 27, 1953 by the Rev. Edwin Kutz in Bowmanstown.

The former Betty Getz is the daughter of the late William Getz of Hellertown and the late Madlyn Getz of Aquashicola. Her husband is the son of the late Norman and Stella Smith of Aquashicola.The couple has one son, Dale Jr. of Bowmanstown, married to Denise; and two daughters, Peggy, married to Larry Rennig of Palmerton, and Patty, married to Keith Smith of Palmerton.They also have five grandchildren: Corey Rennig of Allentown; Rebecca, married to Jason Lotier of New Cumberland; Scott Smith and Todd Smith of Palmerton; and Gary Borger, married to Jen of Palmerton.The couple has two great-grandsons, Braiden and Tanner Lotier of New Cumberland.Their children hosted a family dinner at Platz's in Lehighton to mark the occasion.
