Thorpe woman facing charges

Published July 11. 2013 05:05PM

A Jim Thorpe woman is facing charges following an incident that occurred earlier this year.

Borough police identified the suspect as Marisol E. Magobet, 33, of 221 South St.

On Jan. 19 about 4:49 p.m. police were dispatched to the area of 902 Laurel Road for a report of two females fighting. On scene officers found Magobet and Elisah A. Wonsock, who was seated in the passenger side of a vehicle. Police were informed by witnesses that Magobet and Wonsock were observed fighting with each other.

As police were trying to speak with Magobet she began to take her clothes off. She was told to stop but she continued until she was completely nude. Polic then escorted Magobet to their patrol car when she became combative. She refused to get into the patrol car, was handcuffed, and placed in the car by the officers.

Because of Magobet's behavior she was transported to the Lehighton hospital for evaluation. En route she continued to be combative and refused to exit the patrol car at the hospital and had to be physically removed.

Police said Wonsock told them that Magobet smoked what she thought was a marijuana and became paranoid and combative. Wonsock then was attacked by Magobet. Wonsock, however, refused to press charges.

Magobet was charged with one count each of indecent exposure and resisting arrest, misdemeanor twos, and one count each of open lewdness and persistent disorderly conduct, misdemeanor threes, and one summary count each of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
