Free fireworks tonight

A free fireworks display will be presented at about 9:30 p.m. today at the Ginder Field in Summit Hill.

Preceding the fireworks, there will be a deejay playing music from 7:30 until the pyrotechnic explosions. The show is being co-produced by the lead pyrotechnician for Celebration Fireworks, the company that does the display for the Stay at Home Festival, and borough resident Kevin Steber.Steber reportedly is working on becoming a fireworks professional. He wrote on his Facebook page, "Life is all about setting goals and then working towards them. Tonight, one of my goals will be accomplished and I will sit with a smile on my face as it unfolds."He continues, "A long time ago I said I wanted to be involved with and do fireworks displays especially one for my home town."Yesterday Steber participated in setting up and executing the City of Allentown's fireworks."The other half of my goal will be accomplished this evening at 9:30 at the Ginder Stadium when my show comes alive," he writes. "Much thought and care was put into selecting just the right material for the job and tonight we will all see how it came out."
