The engagement of Diane Pham of Gorham, Maine to Scott Crown of Newark, Del. has been announced by his parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Tham and Hanh Pham of Geneva, Ill.She is a 2006 graduate of Beloit College, Beloit, Wis., where she majored in chemistry; and a 2010 graduate of the University of Delaware, where she earned a degree in chemistry and biochemistry.She is employed by IDEXX Laboratories in Westbrook, Maine.The prospective bridegroom is the son of Barry and Wanda Crown of Stroudsburg.His maternal grandparents, Erwin and Alice Schnell, and paternal grandmother, Dorothy Crown, all reside in Palmerton.He graduated in 2004 from Pleasant Valley High School, where he was the class valedictorian. He is a 2008 graduate of Lafayette College, where he earned a degree in chemical engineering. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Delaware, where he continues to study chemical engineering.The couple is planning a wedding for July 5 of this year.
