KME gets plaques

Kovatch Mobile Equipment in Nesquehoning were recipients of two plaques presented by Nesquehoning Fire Chief John McArdle, who also serves as president of the Ambulance Corp, for the years of service to the community. Receiving the Corporate Citizens Award are John Kovatch IV (left), vice president of customer service and John Kovatch III, CEO. The Nesquehoning firefighter employees of KME, Monday through Friday, respond to medical emergencies in the borough of Nesquehoning, supplementing the volunteer staff that leaves the borough for employment outside the borough. McArdle stated that without the help of the Kovatch family during the day the Nesquehoning Ambulance Corp would have to look for a paid staff or merge with another ambulance service. For the year of 2012, KME employees responded to 174 calls out of a total of 513 that the ambulance responded to for the year.
