Schuylkill Mall incidents probed

State police at Frackville are investigating two incidents that occurred at stores in the Schuylkill Mall in New Castle Township.

Troopers said two black males entered the Sears store between 3 and 4 p.m. on Feb. 21 and opened a jewelry case as the cashier was distracted.The two removed seven diamond rings and five pairs of diamond earrings. The two were described as being between the ages of 35-50.Troopers said two black females entered multiple stores in the mall and passed six fake $100 bills. Mall security had been following the pair after the initial bill was discovered as fake and passed at the Victoria's Secret Bath & Body Works store.Security was unable to apprehend the two or obtain vehicle information. The incident began about 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25.The two were described as being between the ages of 35-45, wearing black clothing, and with cornrow hair style.Troopers said the bills carried the same serial number and passed the detection marker test.
