State police at Frackville are investigating two incidents that occurred at stores in the Schuylkill Mall in New Castle Township.

Troopers said two black males entered the Sears store between 3 and 4 p.m. on Feb. 21 and opened a jewelry case as the cashier was distracted.

The two removed seven diamond rings and five pairs of diamond earrings. The two were described as being between the ages of 35-50.

Troopers said two black females entered multiple stores in the mall and passed six fake $100 bills. Mall security had been following the pair after the initial bill was discovered as fake and passed at the Victoria's Secret Bath & Body Works store.

Security was unable to apprehend the two or obtain vehicle information. The incident began about 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25.

The two were described as being between the ages of 35-45, wearing black clothing, and with cornrow hair style.

Troopers said the bills carried the same serial number and passed the detection marker test.
