Tamaqua man facing charges

Published August 06. 2013 05:02PM

A Tamaqua man was cited following a fight with his son on July 27.

Police were dispatched to 318 Clarke St. at 6:15 p.m. for a reported domestic incident involving a father, a son, and a knife. On scene they spoke with Trevor Miller, 47, who told them that everything was fine and "nothing was going on." When asked about a knife, Miller pulled one out of his pocket and laid it on the hood of the police cruiser.

Meanwhile, another officer was inside speaking with Miller's son. According to his statement, the son was playing a video game and the father wanted to watch a movie. When the son refused to find the movie the father became enraged and began wrestling the teen to the ground. At one point the older man pulled out a knife and allegedly tried to slash his son's throat.

Miller was charged with simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment
