Michael Grustas, 34, of Minersville, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol as a result of a one-vehicle crash at 11 p.m. April 24 on Route 209 in Brancgh Township.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said he escaped injuries in the incident.Police said he was driving a 2002 Ford Ranger southbound on Rt. 209 when he lost control of it, causing it to travel onto the west berm and strike a pile of landscape rocks and a stone wall. The truck continued several feet south before coming to rest in the south lane facing southwest.Police said after the collision he fled the scene on foot and was located several minutes later by the Minersville Police Department.Police said he was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol and was asked to submit to a standardized field sobriety test. He was placed under arrest and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center, Pottsville, for a blood test to determine his blood-alcohol level.Police said the vehicle sustained moderate damages and was towed from the scene.
