Lehighton Rotary, Pool Pals hosting fund raisers
Lehighton Rotary Club and Lehighton Area Pool Pals are once again teaming up to host the annual Community Indoor Yard Sale and Chinese Auction on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from noon to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lehighton Recreation Center, 243 South Eighth Street in Lehighton. All proceeds from the event will benefit community programs of the two organizations.
"We are happy to partner with Pool Pals for this community fundraiser," said Lehighton Rotary Club Past President Erica Heery. "It shows how organizations can work together to help make the world a better place."
"The synergy and working partnership exhibited between the two groups is outstanding," added Lehighton Area Pool Pals President Mark Hoffman. "Both organizations work cooperatively together for the common goal of helping others in our community."
Those who donate at least one non-perishable food item at the Community Indoor Yard Sale and Chinese Auction will be given a free door prize ticket. Without the food donation, the participation fee for the door prize raffle is $1 per ticket. All of these donations will be given to the community food pantry at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lehighton, a division of Shepherd House, Inc.
Tickets will also be available at the event for the upcoming Elvis tribute show on Saturday, June 1 at Lehighton American Legion - featuring award-winning Elvis tribute artist Jeff Krick. All proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the community programs of Lehighton Rotary Club.
