Two persons hurt in Schuylkill mishap

Two persons were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 6:52 p.m. Dec. 24 on State Route 901 in Cass Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at the Frackville barracks said Patricia M. Forgotch of Shenandoah, the driver of the vehicle, sustained moderate injuries and Stephen Forgotch, 84, also of Shenandoah, had minor injuries. Police said they were transported to the Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville, for treatment of injuries after the accident.Police said the woman was driving a 2004 GMC Envoy southbound and was traveling on a snow-covered roadway when negotiating a right curve in the road. The operator lost control of the vehicle, which slid across the northbound lane and struck the curb and a utility pole. It then spun counter-clockwise and rolled onto its passenger's side.Police said the driver and the passenger had to ne extricated from the vehicle.The operator will be cited for causing the accident.
