The Rev. Jim Cavallero will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in First United Methodist Church. The service will include a hymn sing and a children's message offered by Marge Kropp.Activities for next week will include: Wednesday, chancel choir rehearses at 7 p.m.; Thursday, trustees meet at 6 p.m., administrative council meets at 7 p.m.St. Peter's UnionThe Rev. Rodney Wells will officiate at the 9 a.m. worship service this Sunday in St. Peter's Union Church, Mantzville. The service will feature a hymn sing and will be followed by the Sunday school Christmas program at 10:30 a.m.Next week's activities will include: Thursday, prayer group meeting at 4:45 p.m., cherub choir rehearsal at 6:30 p.m, junior choir practice at 7 p.m. and senior choir rehearsal at 7:30 p.m.Snow removalSnow removal will be performed on various streets in the Borough of Tamaqua during the winter season. Streets will be posted the day before snow removal is scheduled.Snow removal may begin anytime after 12:01 a.m. on the posted day, and start times will vary depending on work schedules and weather conditions.Residents are reminded that they must move their vehicles for snow removal.Vehicles that remain on the posted streets will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense.Christmas tree collectionThe Borough of Tamaqua Street Department will be collecting Christmas trees throughout the month of January.Residents should place their trees at the curb for pickup on their garbage collection day.The department will check each street on garbage days and collect trees as time and weather permits.Christmas trees should not be placed in bags and must be free of tinsel and other decorations. Trees will not be collected after Jan. 31.Residents can also drop off trees behind the Tamaqua Borough Garage at 421 Rear E. Broad St.
