December 25th is the annual commemoration of the birth of Jesus the Christ. It is Christmas Day (Cristesmaesse, from old English, meaning "Christ's Mass"), which is the true reason for this season! Many traditions have been added to the celebration of Christmas through the years. Though attacks have been made on Christianity since 1776, it was not until 1947 when, out of thin air, the United States Supreme Court took a major step toward taking God out of the public square by holding in EVERSON v. BOARD OF EDUCATION, 330 U.S. 1 (1947), that there is "a Wall of separation between Church and State". Since then, the courts have progressively denied our true history and law concerning Christianity and Christmas. Any mention of God in schools and other public places is not allowed. Public displays of the Cross, the Ten Commandments and a Nativity Scene are not allowed. We are told to say "Happy Holidays", not "Merry Christmas". Public prayer is not allowed. And now we are told to call a Christmas Tree a "Holiday Tree". Where will it end?

All of these public activities are unconstitutional according to the United States Supreme Court because they allegedly violate the "First Amendment". But what does the "First Amendment" actually state with respect to religion? Answer:"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;"The first part of this phrase is called the "Establishment Clause", while the second part is called the "Free Exercise Clause". The courts, many attorneys and judges, certain politicians and others have falsely interpreted these two causes and/or focus solely on the "Establishment Clause" and totally ignore the " Free Exercise Clause." Further, the "First Amendment" only lawfully applies in federal jurisdictions, not within the States.Most Pennsylvanians, and others, know that one of the major reasons the colonists came to Pennsylvania, and to the other 12 original colonies, was for religious freedom. What most do not know is that when both the first Pennsylvania Constitution was written and became law in 1776 and the "Bill of Rights" was ratified in 1791 as an integral and required part of the Constitution for the United States of America, the word "religion" as used in these two fundamental law compacts/contracts (and in all other documents of the time), meant "denomination" or "sect" of Christianity. Also, little known is the fact that one well-known motto of the War for Independence, or as it is now called, "Revolutionary War" was "No king, but King Jesus".As a matter of constitutional law, each State of the Union and the United States of America are Christian Nations in our compound republic. Our structure of governments and laws are to be based for the most part on Christian principles and morality found in the Holy Bible, the Old and New Testaments, King James version. Our founding fathers clearly understood the Bible and the law.Blackstone's Commentaries on English Law states the following about the Nature of Laws:"Human law must not contravene nature. - This law of nature, being coeval with mankind, and dictated by God himself, is of course superior in obligation to any other. It is binding over all the globe, in all countries, and at all times: no human laws are of any validity, if contrary to this; and such of them as are valid derive all their force, and all their authority, mediately or immediately, from this original. …And if our reason were always, as in our first ancestor before his transgression, clear and perfect, unruffled by passions, unclouded by prejudice, unimpaired by disease or intemperance, the task would be pleasant and easy; we should need no guide but this. But every man now finds the contrary in his own experience; that his reason is corrupt, and his understanding full of ignorance and error.This has given manifold occasion for the benign interposition of divine Providence, which, in compassion to the frailty, the imperfection, and the blindness of human reason, hath been pleased, at sundry times and in divers manners, to discover and enforce its laws by an immediate and direct revelation. The doctrines thus delivered we call the revealed or divine law, and they are to be found only in the holy scriptures. …Upon these two foundations, the law of nature and the law of revelation, depend all human laws; that is to say, no human laws should be suffered to contradict these; …"The founding fathers intended (as an examination of the historical records reveal) to insure by the "First Amendment" that there would not be any single central or federally sponsored denomination.George Washington, President when the First Congress wrote the "First Amendment", stated the following, among other things, in his 1796 "Farewell Address to the People of the United States":"Of all the dispositions and habits, which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports. - In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labour to subvert these great Pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Man & Citizens. - The mere Politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. - A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity. - Let it simply be asked, where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths, which are the instruments of investigation in Courts of Justice? - And let us with caution indulge the supposition, that morality can be maintained without religion. - Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of particular structure - reason & experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle. -'Tis substantially true, that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government. - The rule indeed extends with more or less force to every species of Free Government. - Who, that is a sincere friend to it, can look with indifference upon attempts to shake the foundation of the fabric?"James Madison, founding father and the primary author of the Constitution for the United States of America, wrote the following in 1778:"We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future … upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to sustain ourselves, according to the Ten Commandments of God."Founding father Patrick Henry stated:"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionist [pluralism], but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ! For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.""Christianity, general Christianity, is and always has been, a part of the common law of Pennsylvania."(Updegraph v. The Commonwealth, 11 Serg. & R. 393, 400 (Sup. Ct. Penn.) (1824))Also remember, our calendar is based on the birth of Jesus the Christ. A.D. is used for years after His birth. A.D. is an abbreviation for the Latin phrase "Anno Domini", which in English means: "in the year of the Lord." Obviously, B.C., meaning "Before Christ", is used to denote years before His birth.The "Free Exercise Clause" of the "First Amendment" guarantees that, "Congress shall make no law … prohibiting the free exercise thereof". All attempts to eliminate God, Jesus the Christ and the Holy Spirit from the public square are immoral, unlawful and unconstitutional. Those in government must understand the true meaning and original intent of the "First Amendment". Fraud, deceit, misrepresentation, and/or intimidation, particularly by attorneys and judges, cannot be tolerated.Christmas is the celebration of the birth of the Messiah, Jesus the Christ. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
