State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said a 17-year-old Minersville boy who is a student at the Schuylkill Intermediate Unit 29 school in Norwegian Township will be charged with institutional vandalism after an incident on Dec. 19 at 11:12 a.m. at the school.

Police said the boy was upset about a school issue and left his assigned classroom. While walking through the hallways, he punched, kicked and head-butted six different holes in different walls throughout the school.Police said he was restrained by school staff.The charges will be filed through the Schuylkill County Juvenile Probation Office.
