Marge Palumbo, a member of the Palmerton Concourse Club and a Meals On Wheels volunteer, delivers Mattie Eck's daily Meals on Wheels at her apartment at the Palmerton High Rise. In addition to her delicious meals for the day, Mattie, and all Meals On Wheels clients, received a special treat, from the Palmerton Concourse Club. Concourse Club members handmade Christmas themed material pouches filled with candy, a cloth Christmas ball ornament designed by Vinita Horinko, Concourse Club member and chair of the Meals On Wheels committee, and handcrafted Christmas ornaments of seashell angels made and designed by Shirley Blynn. Mattie, the longest living resident at the High Rise, says her meals are a definite convenience and the food is excellent and she was very grateful for her Christmas gifts.
