Crashes probed

State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers on Friday, Dec. 7, which were caused by icy road conditions.

A crash occurred about 7:20 a.m. along SR248 in Bowmanstown, Carbon County. Troopers said Stuart Sari, 37, of East Stroudsburg, was driving a 2006 Ford Mustang westbound when he lost control due to icy road conditions. The car went onto the north berm and struck a vehicle that was disabled due to a prior crash. Sari was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.A one-vehicle crash was reported at 8:50 a.m. along Pohopoco Drive, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Barbara A. Muller, 74, of Lehighton, was driving a 1995 Ford Explorer westbound when she lost control due to icy conditions. The vehicle began to rotate about 90 degrees in a clockwise direction before it struck a guide rail along the north berm.Muller sustained a minor injury and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, by Lehighton ambulance.A one-vehicle crash was reported at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 2 at the intersection of SR903 and Maury Road in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Cecelia Goldbaugh, of Albrightsville, was driving a 2013 Kia westbound when she attempted to make a left turn onto Maury Road.Due to fog she drove the vehicle into a ditch, troopers said. Goldbaugh was not injured.
