'A Victorian Christmas in Lansford'

The Lansford Historical Society, the Panther Valley Public Library, and St John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church will jointly host a Victorian Christmas in Lansford holiday program and Open House this Sunday, December 16 beginning at 2 p.m.. The Historical Society Museum and Panther Valley Public Library are both headquartered at 117 East Bertsch Street in Lansford. St. Johns Byzantine Catholic Church is located just across the street in the same block.

From 2-3 p.m., the Library will present the singers and dancers from the Holistic Therapeutic Outreach Services in Lansford who will perform traditional Victorian Christmas Carols and dance. Following a brief intermission with holiday refreshments and home baked goodies, at 3:15 to 4:15 the Historical Society will present a holiday musical program with guest soloist Leilani Chesonis from Shenandoah. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. Visitors are encouraged to wear Victorian outfits or hats to add to the festive atmosphere.Following the two hour music and dance programs, there will be an open house and refreshments at the Lansford Historical Society Museum upstairs and the Panther Valley Public Library downstairs. Visitors can view the new exhibits and donations to the Lansford Museum and find out about all the great programs being offered by the Library to the public. Just across the street, there will be a holiday open house from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the historic St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church which features spectacular architecture inside and out, beautiful Christmas decorations, rich traditions and heritage.
