Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Ahner recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Nov. 17, 1962 by the Rev. Henry E. Eisenhart in Zion Stone Church in Kreidersville.

Mrs. Ahner is the former Elaine Coleman, daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha Coleman. Her husband is the son of the late Charles and Ida Ahner.Prior to retiring, Maynard was employed by the Bethlehem Steel Company. Elaine devoted her time and energy to raising their children. They have a daughter, Deborah, married to Dennis Scheckler, Lehighton; and two sons, Maynard II, and his wife Jennifer, Southlake, Texas, and Darryl and his wife Sheila, Beaver Creek, Ohio.They have 10 grandchildren: Ryan and Janelle Scheckler, Amelia, Charlie, William and Jessica Ahner, and Joshua, Jeremy, Kristen and Kathleen Ahner.The Ahners celebrated this special occasion at a party attended by their children, grandchildren, family and friends.
