School tax suits

Tamaqua Area School District filed suits against two property owners claiming they are delinquent in payments on their property school tax and seeks judgements entered.One suit is against Bernard L. and Brenda Gigli claiming they owe back taxes of $788.09 on their property at 106 Gay St., Tamaqua, and the second suit against Brenda L. Ristila claiming she owes back school tax of $769.06 on her property at 422 Willing St., Tamaqua.Summary hearingsJudge Domalakes presided over a number of summary appeals from decisions made by magisterial district judges and handed down rulings.Jaklin Hanna, 47, of 1110 E. Livingston St., Allentown, was found guilty of a charge of driving a unregistered vehicle when stopped on Fifth Street, Coaldale, and the court ordered the fines and costs imposed by a district judge stand, a $75 fine plus $86 costs.Edward A. Koropchak, 34, of 510 E. Carroll St., Saint Clair, withdrew his appeal and entered a guilty plea to a charge of driving while his license was suspended-DUI related.The court imposed a fined $500 plus $50 costs and he was sentenced to report to the county prison on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 9 a.m. to begin serving a 60 day sentence. He was cited last June 9 by Pottsville Patrolman Roger Olson, when stopped in the 500 block on W. Market St.John J. Liptok, 47, of 1803 W. Norwegian St., Pottsville, was found not guilty of a charge of disorderly conduct and a fine of $100 and $51 costs are refunded. He was cited by Pottsville police .Dane J. Hart, 55, of 186 Main Boulevard, Ringtown, was found guilty of the charge of operating a commercial motor vehicle while failing to wear corrective glasses as required by a medical certificate. He was ordered to pay the $50 fine plus $86 costs imposed by a district judge. Hart was cited in Gilberton by a state trooper.PFA orderSenior Judge D. Michael Stine signed a protection from abuse (PFA) order against Victor Pacsai, 2338 S. Alice St., Allentown, ordering he stay away from Crystal Pacsai, 84 Hunter St., Tamaqua, from the property, her place of employment and the business school.Judge John E. Domalakes found James Thomas Maguire, of 62 Washington St., Middleport, guilty of contempt of court by violating the PFA order issued against him. He was fined $300 and assessed court costs and sentenced to serve 11 to 22 days in the county prison.Granted divorceJennifer Ann Weikel, Zions Grove, was granted a divorce from Christopher J. Weikel, Bellport, N.Y. They were married Feb. 14, 2012.Robin C. Wagner, Schuylkill Haven, was granted a divorce from Melissa Wagner, Seminole,. Fla. They were married April 4, 2004.Danielle L. Fessler, Auburn, was granted a divorce from Bret F. Bachert, Orwigsburg. They were married Oct. 30, 2010.Karl W. Mattern was granted a divorce from Tracey L. Mattern, both of Hegins. They were married April 10, 1999.Jeffrey C. Hill was granted a divorce from Vicki L. Hill, both of Orwigsburg. They were marrieed Aug. 14, 1993.Set bailBail for Brian Lee Dietrick, 41, Ashland, was set at $7,500 percentage cash by Judge John E. Domalakes after a hearing in court with certan stipulations.He must reside at 300 Chestnut Street, Ashland, and not relocate without prior court permission, must not possess or consume alcohol or illegal substances or enter establishments that serve primarily liquor, pay a $50 fee for the bench warrant which was issued to bring him into court and he must attend all future court proceedings. Dietrick faces a charge of retail theft from Kmart Store, Schuylkill Mall.
