Monroe crashes

State police at Lehighton reported on two crashes investigated by troopers on Monroe County roads.

A crash was reported at 7:40 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, along Kunkletown Road, near Kleintop Road, in Eldred Township. Troopers said Amanda R. Kemmerer, 23, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier westbound when she attempted to avoid a deer on the road. The car went onto the berm, traveled up a small embankmetn, before rolling over onto its roof and coming to rest back on the road in the right lane.Kemmerer was not injured. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.Kemmerer was cited for driving too fast for conditions.Troopers investigated a one-vehicle crash about 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 27 along Mount Eaton Road, in Ross Township. Troopers said Matthew A. Reed, 24, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2000 GMC Jimmy northbound when he lost control due to traveling too fast for conditions, as snow and slush was on the road, troopers said.The Jimmy traveled northwest across the southbound lane and onto the berm where it struck a mailbox. The front of the Jimmy then struck a tree where it came to rest.Reed and his passenger, Selena Reed, 17, of Bangor, were not injured.He was cited for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.
