The winning entries in the Dimmick Memorial Library's 5th Annual Gingerbread House Contest were announced after judging of all submissions.

The contest was held at the library as part of Jim Thorpe's Olde Time Christmas Festival.Every part of the gingerbread house had to be edible with the exception of the platform on which it was built.Contestants competed in one of three categories which were Adult (13 and up); Child (12 and under); and Group.Prizes were awarded in each category with 1st prize in each category receiving $25 and runners up each receiving $10.Prizes for the winners were paid in the new gold dollars and were donated compliments of The Old Jail Museum on West Broadway in Jim Thorpe.Entries were judged on creativity, neatness, variety of materials/details, setting, durability, and overall effect.Winning entries were : Adult 1st prize, Susan FrendakChild 1st prize, Garret HollowayGroup 1st prize, Beth Shrum and Sage LutteSpecial Honor Maxine Yonda and parentsThe library's Special Projects Coordinator Irene Hudock organized the Gingerbread House Contest and the judges for the event were : Colleen Hegding, Mary Mulligan, and Robin Bierman.The judges were in agreement that the creativity of all of the entrants was unbelievable and deciding the winners was extremely hard to do.All of the Gingerbread Houses will be on display at the Dimmick Memorial Library until December 15th
