Two Schuylkill County women are facing retail theft charges following an incident at a county department store.

State police at Schuylkill Haven identified the two as Catherine Schrantz, 34, and Christina Covach, 41, both of Girardville.Troopers said the two women entered Kohl's Department store in the Fairlane Village Mall, East Norwegian Township, about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, with two large purses that they previously emptied before entering the store.While in the store the two were observed by store security removing multiple items from shelves and hangers placing them in the bags. Security was able to focus surveillance cameras on the pair and recorded their actions.The two were stopped as they attempted to leave the store with the stolen items. All the items were recovered.Both were issued citations and released, troopers added.
